State Real Estate (VNI) will soon commence restoration of the facade of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) in Riga, 1 Citadeles Street. A contract for EUR 452,630.48 (no VAT) has been signed. Work will be performed by SIA Laba maja Latvija and it is planned to be completed in spring 2021, as reported by VNI board chairman Renars Griskevics.
This company won in the open procurement in a competition with three contenders. Restoration of KNAB’s facade is a logical continuation of the previous work VNI has done on the inside of the building on Citadele Street 1.
Work is planned to be complete within four months of the building being handed over to the construction contractor.
For certain tasks the company has attracted a supplier with industrial security certificate and appropriately trained staff. According to VNI, following the restoration of the building’s facade its general look will become more attractive for the eyes of Riga’s residents and guests.
The building on 1 Citadeles Street in Riga became KNAB headquarters in spring 2018 after a reconstruction performed by VNI. KNAB received premises fitting to its operations. It was one of the most complicated interior adaptation projects performed by VNI because it was necessary to meet very high security requirements.
VNI is currently working on 118 infrastructure development projects worth approximately EUR 180 million. There are also 25 new project ideas in the works.
This year VNI finished the adaptation of the police building on 7 Aspazijas Boulevard for the needs of the office of the prosecutor. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
