Some 235 kilometers of state roads and a hundred kilometers of local roads will be reconstructed and built in Poltava region this year, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He said this during his trip to Poltava region where he got acquainted with the overhaul of the M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv highway within the city of Poltava as part of the Big Construction program, the presidential press service reported.
“As for the roads, there are only pros. Some 235 kilometers of state roads and a hundred kilometers of local roads are being built thanks to Ukravtodor and our head of the regional state administration. A total of 335 kilometers have never been built in Poltava region since Ukraine gained its independence. This is a great result,” Zelensky told journalists after inspecting construction work.
As for the condition of other facilities being reconstructed under the program – schools, kindergartens and sports grounds – some of them have already been commissioned, while others are not ready yet, Zelensky said.
The head of state also tasked Chairman of Poltava Regional State Administration Oleh Syniehubov with completing an unfinished facility – a municipal swimming pool – in 2021.
“In general, I think the level of construction of all facilities planned for 2020 is very good,” Zelensky said.
The President’s Office recalled that last year Zelensky was driving on a section of the M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv road and “was sadly impressed by the highway.” Now this road has been reconstructed.
“It was a pleasure to drive. It’s a beautiful road now – we were driving from the airport. It is a beautiful modern road,” Zelensky said. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
