Odesa Seaport handled 10.45 million tons of cargo in January-May, up by 3.2% YoY.
According to the data of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the port increased the transshipment of exported cargo by 0.3%, to 7.693 million tons, and imported cargo by 22.9%, to 2.241 million tons. Coastal cargo handling decreased by 33.1%, to 41,730 tons, and transit cargo by 16.4%, to 473,990 tons.
The transshipment of bulk cargo at the Odesa Seaport increased by 15.5%, to 780,810 tons, dry and bulk cargo decreased by 13.4%, to 3.71 million tons, while package cargo increased by 14.2%, to 5.959 million tons.
Processing of containers amounted to 271,869 TEU (+8.8%).
Odesa Seaport is located in the southwestern part of Odesa Bay on an artificially created area of 109.5 hectares.
The port services ships up to 270 meters long with a draft of up to 13 meters. The total length of the mooring line is more than eight kilometers. (Open4Business/Business World Magazine)
