This year road maintenance company Latvijas autocelu uzturetajs (LAU) has invested EUR 21.8 million into daily road maintenance, including winter road maintenance, worth a total of EUR 21.8 million, as reported by LAU representative Juris Aksels Cirulis.
EUR 10.48 million was invested into maintenance of road surface of state roads this year.
EUR 1.4 million was invested into repairs of potholes, EUR 1.9 million – into gravel road grading works and EUR 6.7 million – into sediment and pit repairs in Latvia this year.
To improve road traffic safety on state roads, LAU performed pothole repairs on asphalt roads on a total area of 59,100 square meters. To provide comfortable driving conditions, grading work on a total area of 47,400 square meters was performed on gravel roads. Pothole and sediment repairs were performed on a total area of 185,100 square meters.
EUR 4.47 million was invested into road maintenance in Latvia this way.
Road traffic organization work this year is estimated to have cost EUR 733,330.
A total of 4,226 road traffic signs and more than 2,900 signal posts were installed or repaired along state roads in Latvia this year. 1,140 m of safety barriers were repaired and replaced. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
