Georgian gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.2% YoY in February, showed the latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In February, the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year occurred in the following sectors: wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, information and communication, real estate activities, accommodation and food service activities.
A decrease was registered in manufacturing, construction, transportation and storage.
Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $1.85 billion in January-February.
The value of exports increased by 4.5% and reached $526.3 million, while imports increased by 6.7%, amounting to $1.33 billion.
Geostat data showed that 3,969 new enterprises were registered in February, down by 8.9%. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
