The number of passengers serviced by Ukrainian transport companies in January-February decreased by 0.1% YoY, to 15 billion passenger-kilometers, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Over the reporting period, 675.8 million passengers used the services of domestic transport companies, down by 1.5%.
In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in January-February made up 22.2 million, down by 3.3%; passenger turnover made up 3.69 billion passenger-kilometers (-5.3%).
Some 288.5 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles, down by 3.2%, and passenger turnover made up about 5.34 billion passenger-kilometers (-0.1%).
Ukrainian airlines carried 1.5 million passengers over the reporting period, up by 4%; passenger turnover amounted to almost 3.65 billion passenger-kilometers (+6.5%).
Transportation of passengers by water transport in January-February grew by 20%, with 10 thousand passengers recoded. Passenger turnover made up about 20 thousand passenger-kilometers (+29.9%). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
