Georgian gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.8% YoY in December 2019, showed the latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In December 2019 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year occurred in the following sectors: manufacturing, transport and storage, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and hotels and restaurants.
A decrease was registered in construction.
External trade turnover increased to $12.83 billion (+2.7%).
In 2019, the value of exports increased by 12.4% and reached $3.77 billion, while imports decreased by 0.8% and amounted to $9.06 billion.
Geostat data showed that 4,015 new enterprises were registered in December 2019, up by 16.1%. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
