The electric car factory in Kutaisi, western Georgia, will produce its first electric car in August, State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze has declared, adding that at that time the factory will also start producing additional components for cars.
“Electric cars will be exported abroad as well as sold on the local market,” said Shalamberdize.
He noted that at the first stage 5,000 cars would be produced per year, but then the production capacity of the factory would increase to 40,000 cars.
Currently 300 people are employed in the factory, but later the factory plans to employ about 3,000 people. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
