Exports of Georgian tangerines amounted to 21,333 tons from the middle of October to December 19, up by 6.2% YoY, announced the Ministry of Agriculture.
New export destination countries are Lithuania (120.9 tons), Slovenia (158.2 tons), Qatar (0.4 tons) and Singapore (0.1 tons).
The leading export destination countries are Russia – 13,075.3 tons, Ukraine – 4,047.2 tons and Armenia – 3,333.6 tons.
The market price for tangerines ranges from 0.7 GEL ($0.24 or EUR 0.22) to 1.5 GEL ($0.52 or EUR 0.47) per kilogram, says the ministry.
A coordination center serving farmers and factories opened on October 16 to facilitate the distribution of state subsidiaries to farmers producing tangerines.
