The registered unemployment level in Latvia was 5.7% of economically active population in October, or as much as a month prior, according to data from the State Employment Agency (NVA).
At the end of October a total of 52,651 unemployed persons were registered with NVA, up by 56 people.
The lowest unemployment level was registered in Riga region – 3.9%, as much as a month prior, whereas the highest unemployment level was in Latgale – 13.2%, down by 0.1%.
At the same time, unemployment in Kurzeme and Zemgale increased by 0.1% in October, reaching 6.2% and 5.4% respectively. In Vidzeme registered unemployment did not change and was 5.4% of economically active population.
Data from NVA showed that Riga’s registered unemployment level was 3.7% at the end of October, as much as the month prior.
