Retail trade turnover in the city of Kyiv in 2018 grew by 3.4% YoY, according to the Kyiv City State Administration.
“Commodity exports increased by 5.2%, the volume of direct foreign investments into the economy of Kyiv city grew by 3.5%, and capital investments – by 30.6%,” Natalia Melnyk, the director of the Administration’s Economic and Investment Department, said at a meeting of the Kyiv City Council’s standing committee.
She also reported that an average monthly wage in the city of Kyiv grew to UAH 13,500 in 2018. The unemployment rate declined by almost 1% compared with the beginning of the year.
In 2018, the industrial production index in the city of Kyiv fell by 1.9%, while the consumer price index rose by 8.8% compared with December 2017.
In addition, in 2018, UAH 6.9 billion was spent on the construction (reconstruction) of schools, kindergartens, reconstruction of roads, objects of transport, housing and municipal infrastructure, healthcare establishments and social protection of Kyiv residents. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
