In January, the Freeport of Riga handled 2,841,700 tons of cargo, up by 2.6% YoY.
Transshipment of coal grew by 15.9%, to 1,029,900, and wood pellets – by 58.7%, to 90,300 tons, while oil products fell by 36.5%, to 278,000 tons. No ore was handled in January.
The Port’s container throughput grew by 6.5%, to 38,923 TEUs.
In the reporting period, passenger turnover decreased by 14.5%, to 45,373 people including 1,274 cruise passengers (-61.6%). (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
