The city of Zhytomyr has signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on purchase of 50 new trolleybuses.
“We have signed an agreement with the EBRD to finance a project on acquisition of 50 new trolleybuses for Zhytomyr,” Deputy Mayor of Zhytomyr Dmytro Tkachuk wrote on Facebook.
The official noted that they had been working on this project for more than a year.
According to him, the city will receive new trolleybuses in the summer of 2019 after the tender and the procurement procedure are held.
“According to international experts, the production of 142 trolleybuses is optimal for the city of Zhytomyr. Now, we have 85 trolleybuses in poor condition. A new trolleybus fleet is necessary for the city,” Tkachuk stressed. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
