AirBaltic airline has received its twelfth Airbus A220-300 aircraft with registration number YL-CSN. The airline plans to have a total of fourteen Airbus A220-300 aircraft by the end of 2018.
“So far airBaltic has carried more than 1,600,000 passengers using Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Every third of our passengers travels with Airbus A220-300 aircraft. So far, airBaltic has performed more than 15,000 flights using Airbus A220-300 aircraft and has flown for more than 41,000 with them,” the airline reported.
Since starting operation in December 2016 airBaltic has performed flights to 35 countries and 70 airports using Airbus A220-300. This aircraft model is most often used by airBaltic for flights to Moscow, Amsterdam, Paris, London and Barcelona.
Airline’s representatives say the new Airbus A220-300 offers wider seats, more room for hand luggage and other improvements. The new aircraft is also much quieter – the noise level is up to four times below that produced by other aircraft.
“Currently it is the most environmentally friendly commercial aircraft in the world, because Airbus A220-300 is the first aircraft whose influence on the environment is completely transparent throughout its life cycle, helping reduce CO2 emissions and NOX emissions by 20% and 50%,” the airline said.
