Freight volume handled in the Port of Liepaja in January-August climbed by 19.3% YoY, to 4,976,200 tons, the Port Authority says.
In the reporting period, transshipment of grain grew by 42%, to 2,066,500 tons, construction materials – by 10%, to 482,100 tons, while transshipment of oil products fell by 16.5%, to 222,900 tons.
Container traffic dropped by 20%, to 2,222 TEUs, while handling of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 13%, to 29,226 units.
The number of calls increased by 8%, to 1,007, and passenger traffic by 25%, to 34,603 passengers. (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
