Norwegian company Scatec Solar plans to enter the Ukrainian market and build two solar power plants in Cherkasy region.
“Norwegian company Scatec Solar, which has installed 322 MW of solar power plants in the Czech Republic, South Africa and other countries and has more than 1,092 MW in the pipeline, intends to enter the Ukrainian market,” the press service of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine reports.
It is noted that the company plans to install two solar power plants with a capacity of 33 MW and 50 MW, respectively, in Cherkasy region. The plant will produce about 106 million kWh per year.
The total cost of the project is EUR 85 million. At the same time, Scatec Solar expects to participate in the EBRD project.
“Ukraine is working actively to increase the share of renewable energy. We hope that the installation of two plants will be the first step in developing a large portfolio of “green” projects in this country,” commented CEO of Scatec Solar Raymond Carlsen. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
