Kyiv’s Luch State Design Bureau has developed a brand new 107mm rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
The grenade launcher will replace the Soviet-era RPO Rys rocket propelled flamethrower, withdrawn from use in 2014, as the shelf life of its reactive mixture had expired.
The new sample of a heavy infantry weapon is designed to engage such targets as lightly armored and unarmored equipment (launchers, radars, aircraft on the ground, cars, etc.), field fortifications (permanent fire positions and bunkers), troops (both across open terrain and in shelters), as well as facilities made of stones, bricks or concrete. The main feature of the launcher is a modern optic-electronic sight, which automates and simplifies the process of aiming. It allows detecting and recognizing targets at a distance of up to 1,800 meters. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
