The railway companies of Belarus and Estonia are set to increase bilateral cargo transportation operations, the press service of the Belarusian Railways reported.
The heads of the Belarusian Railways and the Estonian Railways met in Minsk to discuss cargo transportation on the Belarus-Estonia route and their prospects. In January-August the volume of transported cargo exceeded 800,000 tons, up 2.8-fold YoY.
“A decision has been taken to continue the work on preserving and further increasing the volume of cargo transportation between Belarus and Estonia, including the container train ZUBR,” the press service said.
The parties also considered the development of production cooperation between the companies of the Belarusian Railways and the Estonian Railways, including the modernization of the centralized traffic control systems, track and rolling stock maintenance and repairs, supplies of railway products.
During the meeting an agreement was signed between the Belarusian Railways and the Estonian Railways on the information exchange in the international cargo transportation. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
