Ukrainian agrarians harvested 33.4 million tons of grain on 8.8 million hectares (91% of the target) as of August 8, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry’s press service.
Early grain crops have already been harvested in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolayiv, and Kherson regions.
The average yield of cereals is estimated at 3.79 tons per hectare, the report said.
At the same time, 24 million tons of wheat were threshed from an area of 5.9 million hectares (92% of the target), 7.9 million tons of barley from 2.4 million hectares (94%), 313,000 tons of rye from 107,000 hectares (64%), and 183,000 tons of oats from 69,000 hectares (35%). The farmers have also harvested 1.1 million tons of peas from 404,000 hectares, which accounted for 99% of the projected figure.
In addition, Ukrainian farmers continue harvesting rapeseed, having collected 2.1 million tons from an area of 745,000 hectares (95%).
In general, early grain and leguminous crops are to be harvested on the area of 9.7 million hectares. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
