The Port of Odessa says its throughput in January-June totaled 12.24 million tons, up by 5% YoY.
In the reporting period the port handled 4,336,000 tons of grain (+12.3%), 252,570 TEUs of containerized cargo (+9.9%), 1,169,600 tons of liquid bulk cargo (+36.7%), and 2,715,300 tons of ferrous metal (against 3,132,900 tons in H1 2016).
In June, the port’s stevedoring companies handled 1,805,900 tons of cargo (+28.3%)
Port of Odessa is one of the largest ports of the Black Sea-Azov basin. It covers the area of 141 hectares and can accommodate vessels of up to 330 m in length and up to 13 m in draft. Waterfront of the port exceeds 9 km. The port’s technical capacities allow handling more than 25 million tons of dry and 25 million tons of bulk cargoes annually.
