Russian Lada cars are still the most popular brand in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Union of Automobile Industry Enterprises said in a message.
In February official dealers in the country sold 467 Lada cars.
Japanese Toyota was the second best seller in Kazakhstan with 465 cars sold in the reporting month. French Renault with 238 cars sold got the third place.
The TOP-10 of the most popular brands also includes Ravon (159 cars sold in February), Hyundai (154 cars), Volkswagen (152 cars), GAZ (150 cars), KIA (136 cars), Nissan (91 cars) and UAZ (87 cars).
In total, official dealers sold 2,567 cars in February, up by 12.2% MoM and by 26.1% YoY.
New car sales in monetary terms hit $62.3 million, up by YoY and by 20.8% MoM.
As much as 1,878 cars were sold in February or 73% of all sales were imported from abroad, 689 cars or 27% of sold cars were assembled in Kazakhstan.
In January-February official dealers sold 4,855 cars in Kazakhstan, down by 30.8% YoY. Car sales in monetary terms in the first two months of 2017 hit $114 million, up by 4.3% YoY.
The highest sales were in the city of Almaty cities (730 cars sold in February) and Astana (501 cars). (Trend/Business World Magazine)
