Kazakhstan supplied 221 KMT of flour to foreign markets in December 2016, down by 5% YoY, but nevertheless it was one of the largest export volumes for this time of season.
Kazakh flour exports for the four months of 2016/2017 were up by 23.3% YoY at 941 KMT against 763.3 KMT in September-December 2015.
Afghanistan remains the top importer of Kazakh flour. In the period under review the country purchased over 650 KMT of flour from Kazakhstan, or almost twice as much as it imported at the same time last season (roughly 365 KMT in September-December 2015/2016).
Flour exports from Kazakhstan to China also continue at a faster pace. Simultaneously, a decrease was seen in deliveries to traditional destination markets of Kazakh flour such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
