According to the official statistics figures, in September-January of the current MY Ukraine exported 60 thousand tons of high-oleic sunflower oil, up 4.2 times YoY and up 2.6 times compared with the first five months of 2014/2015 MY (14.2 thousand tons and 23.1 thousand tons respectively).
Expansion of the export geography mainly influenced the reporting growth rates. In the current season Ukraine demonstrated high supplies to Italy (14 thousand tons), France (4.2 thousand tons), Iran (2 thousand tons) and Saudi Arabia (1.6 thousand tons), which did not purchase the product in the same period during two previous seasons.
Only Spain (3.8 thousand tons against 6.4 thousand tons in the previous year) among major traditional importers reduced its purchases of Ukrainian high-oleic sunflower oil. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
