Ukrainian exporters supplied 42.5 KMT of flour to foreign markets in December 2016, up by 43.5% YoY. Overall, this is the largest monthly volume of flour shipments from Ukraine.
Ukraine exported 9.6% more flour in H1 2016/2017 than at the same time in MY 2015/2016 (197.6 KMT and 180.3 KMT respectively).

The key feature of the current season was a surge in Ukrainian flour deliveries to African countries. Besides, Somali imported over 13.5 KMT of Ukrainian flour against 1.9 KMT for the entire last season. Also, it is worth mentioning other African markets that grew this season, specifically countries such as Benin, Ghana, Djibouti, Egypt, Madagascar and Togo.
Roughly 41 KMT of Ukrainian flour was shipped to African countries in H1 2016/2017 (21% of total exports at the time). (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
