In January-December 2016 seaports of Ukraine handled 131.998 million tons of cargo (-8.9%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 100.395 million tons (- 3.3%), imports – 16.013 million tons (- 10.8%), transit – 10.370 million tons (-34.8%), inland traffic – 5.220 million tons (- 23.7%).
State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 38.415 million tons (29.1% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 93.583 million tons (70.9% of total volume) including 53.490 million tons handled via USPA berths (40.5% of total volume).
Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 588,542 TEUs (+24.1% YoY). (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
