Due to expansion of the planted areas of flaxseed in Kazakhstan and the growth of its production volumes, the country managed to increase its processing volumes.
In 2015/2016 MY Kazakhstan produced 16.9 thousand tons of flaxseed oil, which became a historical maximum record, and exceeded the previous season figures 5 times.
According to the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the export volumes of Kazakh flaxseed oil also continue increasing in proportion to its production volumes. In 2015/2016 MY, the country exported 5.5 thousand tons of flaxseed oil, or one third of the general production. The exports developed in such way due to strong demand from China, which usually purchased nearly 100% of supplied Kazakh flaxseed oil. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
