In 2016 the production of grains and pulses in Ukraine will reach 64.2 million tons in standard weight, up by 4 million tons YoY, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine declared.
According to the announcement, the average yield of grains and pulses is estimated at 4.48 ton/ha (up by 0.37 ton/ha compared with the level of 2015).
In particular, the estimation of wheat harvest in standard weight totals 26.1 million tons (down 435 thousand tons) with the average yield at 4.2 ton/ha (up by 0.32 ton/ha), corn – 26.1 million tons (up by 2.8 million tons) with the average yield at 6.15 ton/ha (up by 0.44 ton/ha), barley – 9.5 million tons (up by 1.2 million tons) with the yield at 3.31 ton/ha (up by 0.35 ton/ha), rye – 395 thousand tons (up by 21.6 thousand tons) with the average yield at 2.77 ton/ha (up by 0.18 ton/ha), oats – 510.1 thousand tons (up by 21.6 thousand tons) with the average yield at 2.46 ton/ha (up by 0.14 ton/ha), buckwheat – 183.3 thousand tons (up by 55.2 thousand tons) with the average yield at 1.23 ton/ha (up by 0.22 ton/ha), millet – 189.1 thousand tons (down by 24,2 thousand tons) with the yield at 1.8 ton/ha (down by 0.09 ton/ha), rice – 68.9 thousand tons (up by 6.4 thousand tons) with the average yield at 5.65 ton/ha (up by 0.31 ton/ha).
As for industrial crops, the harvest of sunflower seed also increased to 12.9 million tons (by 2.8 million tons), soybeans – to 4.1 million tons (by 219 thousand tons), and sugar beets – to 13.2 million tons (by 2.8 million tons). At the same, the production volumes of rapeseed lowered compared with last year – 1.2 million tons (down by 581 thousand tons). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
