In 2015/2016, corn exports from Ukraine were down by 11.4% YoY, at 16.76 MMT. The corn harvest decrease was the main factor that slashed deliveries to all the key destinations except for the EU – on the contrary, Ukraine managed to boost exports to Europe by 44.4% to 8484 KMT.
The situation may change in the season 2016/2017. Ukraine has additional export availabilities, estimated at 2 MMT (19 MMT).
At the same time, the current season will be marked by a record global harvest (+7.4% against 2015/2016 according to the USDA’s estimate) due to higher outputs in the US, Brazil, and Argentina. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
