Belarus and Azerbaijan are analyzing the prospects of joint production of carpets and cotton fabrics, the Belarusian President’s press-service said in a statement following President Alexander Lukashenko’s talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“In my opinion, Azerbaijan did the right thing when it decided to develop its cotton growing industry. Output figures will rise so much that we can expect 25,000-30,000 tons or even 40,000 tons of cotton fiber”, Lukashenko said.
He suggested analyzing the possibility of production cooperation with Belarus’ cotton products factory in Baranovichi.
“We could cooperate there. We wouldn’t mind if Azerbaijan enters into company’s shareholding structure”, Lukashenko said.
Established in 1963, OAO Baranovichi Cotton Mill (Brest region) produces linen, fabrics, tablecloths, towels, and protective overalls. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
