The first segment of the rebuilt runway of Chisinau International Airport was inaugurated on November 15. It is about 1 km from the 3500-meter runway. As much as 25 million euro was earmarked to this effect.
“We have inaugurated the first segment of the runway. The quality has improved. I refer to the capacity of the runway that enables to receive almost all types of aircraft. Old runway was 45 meters, and the new one has 60-meter width. The lighting system was completely changed. All efforts are taken for safety of passengers”, Petru Jardan, general manager of the company “Avia Invest” responsible for the works of expansion and modernization of the airport, said.
According to him, all the extension and modernization works at Chisinau International Airport will be completed by the end of 2018. (TRM/Business World Magazine)
