Ukraine has reported two new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) to the OIE following cases of the disease in the Kiev area.
Two commercial farms located in Sokolivka and Tetiyiv, both in the Kiev area, were confirmed with having ASF on November 4.
Out of the total 7,037 pigs susceptible from both farms, 44 cases were reported. All pigs susceptible were destroyed in order to prevent the spread.
Ukraine also reported a further outbreak of ASF in the Poltava area. A farm of 723 pigs discovered ASF in two of its pigs, which subsequently died.
Quarantine has been established at the farm and stamping-out is going to be conducted. (ThePigSite/Business World Magazine)
