In 2015/2016 MY, Ukraine increased the export shipment of vegetable oils by containers, the Associated Partner at Global Ocean Link Pavel Mirzak declared.
In particular, container shipping of sunflower oil increased by 24% YoY, soybean oil – 4.8 times.
In January-August the port of Odessa covered more than half of the container shipment of the reporting products, and increased its shipment volumes by 2% YoY. The Yuzhny port took the second place in the rating, and increased its shipment volumes 3.3 times, and its market share by 34%. The Chernomorsk port took the third place with the growth of shipment volumes by 50%, and the market share of 12%.
Also, the expert added that sunflower meal made the real boom in container shipping of Ukrainian products in 2015/2016 MY. During 8 months its exports increased more than 5 times YoY. The increased demand for Ukrainian sunflower meal from India became the main driver of such growth rates. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
