In the course of the auction held by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Property Issues on October 25, 31 state property units have been sold as part of a new privatization program.
Three lots put for privatization were joint-stock companies, 16 were small state enterprises and properties, three – unused non-residential areas and the remaining nine were vehicles.
Six units out of 16 state-owned enterprises are located in Baku, while the rest are in other cities and regions of the country.
Some 101 state property units will be put up for the next auction to be held on November 1.
The third stage of privatization started as part of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on additional measures to improve the state property privatization process dated May 19, as well as the president’s decree on some measures to improve the management efficiency and speed up the state property privatization process dated July 19.
