National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to import 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Europe in October, Naftogaz Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev has said.
“Now we are importing the highest ever volumes of gas from Europe. For example, in October we expect that it would be 1.3-1.4 bcm”, he said.
He said that imports of large amounts of gas and gas stocks in underground gas storage facilities being 14.704 bcm as of October 19, were enough to provide Ukrainian consumers with gas and safely pass the heating season.
According to tentative data from the public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz, from October 1 through October 19, Ukraine imported 925.4 million cubic meters of gas from Europe or 48.7 million cubic meters a day. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
