After active putting into operation of new elevators in the period of 2010-2015 in the current year Ukraine demonstrated a significant reduction of activity in the market segment, the grain market analyst at APK-Inform Agency Andrei Kupchenko declared.
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2015 Ukraine launched granaries with the general capacity of more than 2.1 million tons, but in the first half of 2016 the index totaled 140 thousand tons only, the expert said. In addition to the fall of investment inflows, rather low loading indices of elevator capacities became one of the major factors for such a situation development.
The average loading level of storage capacities in Ukraine totals nearly 31% in the peak period of grain stocks formation. At the same time, Cherkasy (48%), Poltava (46%) and Sumy regions (43%) have the highest rates of storage capacities loading. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
