In January-August the foreign trade deficit in goods in Ukraine totaled $1.465 billion against $548.5 million of the proficit in the same period last year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
In particular, in January-August the exports of commodities from Ukraine totaled $22.719 billion, down by 9% YoY. The import volumes of goods to Ukraine totaled $24.184 billion (down by 0.9%). The export-import coverage ratio reached 0.94 (in January-August of 2015 – 1.02). Ukraine conducted foreign trade operations with partners from 219 countries.
In the first 8 months of 2016, the volume of Ukrainian commodities exports to the EU increased by 4.4% YoY to $8.601 billion, which totaled 37.9% of the general export flow. The imports of EU commodities increased by 6.6% to $10.617 billion, or 43.9% of the general purchased volumes.
The export volumes of goods to Russia decreased by 30% to $2.226 billion, imports were down by 36.8%, to $3.102 billion. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
