Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has partially reintroduced a four-day workweek on its facilities because of a continuing decline of the car market, a spokesman for the company reported.
“AvtoVAZ has again shifted to a four-day workweek. The B0 platform assembling Lada Largus, XRay and the Renault-Nissan class cars still works under a five-day schedule. The facility producing Lada Vesta in Izhevsk will also work five days a week”, the spokesman said.
The previous time AvtoVAZ set a four-day workweek was on February 15, to avoid staff cuts. The plant returned to a five-day workweek after corporate vacations on August 15. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
