On September 30, the minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi signed the Annex #1 to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and market participants – grain exporters for 2016/2017 MY.
The document settles voluntary coordination of the possible volumes of grain exports from Ukraine in 2016/2017 MY, to ensure food security of the country, and predictability of the grain market.
According to the annex (revised on September 30), the estimated export volumes of wheat and meslin mixture in the current season total 16.5 million tons, including 10.1 million tons of milling grains (1-5 grades) and 6.4 million tons of non-milling grains (6-grade and non-grade). The approximate volumes of rye exports total 1 thousand tons, and barley – 5.6 million tons.
According to the updated forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the general volumes of grain exports in the current MY will reach 41 million tons, against 39.4 million tons in the previous MY.
