The number of container trains going from China to Europe transiting through Kazakhstan has increased more than twice. Since the beginning of the year, 1,210 container trains passed through the territory of Kazakhstan on the China-Europe railroad. During the same period of last year, 503 trains went this way, according to Kazakhstan national railway company.
The number of container trains going by transit through Kazakhstan in the opposite direction – from Europe to China – has also increased: 245 trains last year and 101 trains this year.
Since the beginning of this year, over 5 million tons of grain were transported. The railway company transported about 2 million tons of flour.
Currently, the company is taking steps to expand the geography of export routes and increase cargo volumes transported by container trains. (World-Grain/Business World Magazine)
