As of September 15, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 38.5 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 34 million ha), or 81.4% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 103.2 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.68 ton/ha (in 2015 – 84.4 million tons with the yield of 2.48 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 24.1 million ha (86.9% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 70.8 million tons, with the yield of 2.94 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 18.2 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 7.7 million ha (91.9%). The average yield totaled 2.36 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 315.8 thousand ha (10.9%), and produced 1.6 million tons of corn, with the average yield at 5.17 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 157.6 thousand tons of rice throughout 25.4 thousand ha (12.3%). The average yield totaled 6.2 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower seed harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 1.6 million tons throughout 779.5 thousand ha (10.4%). The average yield totaled 2.11 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested rapeseed throughout 539.9 thousand ha (54.3%), and produced 701.7 thousand tons, with the average yield of 1.3 ton/ha.
Agrarians started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 300.8 thousand ha (13.8%), the produced volumes – 553.5 thousand tons, the average yield – 1.84 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 34.2 thousand ha only, or 71.1% of the planted areas.
As of September 15, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 8.6 million ha, or 49.6% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 7.9 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
