As of September 5, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 34.5 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 27.7 million ha), or 73% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 95.6 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.77 ton/ha (in 2015 – 73 million tons with the yield of 2.64 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 21.4 million ha (77.1% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 66.3 million tons, with the yield of 3.1 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 17.4 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 7.3 million ha (87.1%). The average yield totaled 2.39 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 54.5 thousand ha (1.9%), and produced 273.4 thousand tons of grain, with the average yield at 5.02 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested rapeseed throughout 378.7 thousand ha (38.1%), and produced 509.6 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.35 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 332.4 thousand tons of the oilseed throughout 162.5 thousand ha (2.2%). The average yield totaled 2.05 ton/ha.
Also, agrarians started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 76.2 thousand ha, the produced volumes – 134.5 thousand tons, the average yield – 1.77 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 26.8 thousand ha only, or 55.6% of the planted areas.
As of September 5, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 4.4 million ha, or 25.2% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 3.5 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
