As of August 29, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 30.8 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 25.7 million ha), or 65.3% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 89.3 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.89 ton/ha (in 2015 – 69.3 million tons with the yield of 2.7 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 19 million ha (68.5% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 61.8 million tons, with the yield of 3.26 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 16.3 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 6.7 million ha (79.9%). The average yield totaled 2.44 to/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn throughout 17.5 thousand ha (0.6%), and produced 88.9 thousand tons of the grain, with the average yield at 5.08 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested winter rapeseed throughout 240.7 thousand ha (24.2%), and produced 344.2 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.98 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 94.3 thousand tons of the oilseed throughout 47.7 thousand ha (0.6%). The average yield totaled 1.98 ton/ha.
Agrarians have also started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 30.5 thousand ha, the produced volumes – 61.2 thousand tons, the average yield – 2.01 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 24.1 thousand ha only, or 50% of the planted areas.
As of August 29, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 1.9 million ha, or 11.3% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 2.3 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
