As of August 18, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 23.8 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 21 million ha), or 50.3% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 76.1 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 3.2 tons per ha (in 2015 – 60.5 million tons with the yield of 2.88 t/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 14.7 million ha (53.1% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 52.7 million tons with the yield of 3.58 t/ha.
Russia harvested 13.2 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 5.1 million ha (61.3%). The average yield totaled 2.58 t/ha.
Also, Russia harvested winter rapeseed throughout 93.3 thousand ha (9.4%), and produced 174 thousand tons of the oilseed with the average yield of 1.87 t/ha.
Agrarians harvested flaxseed throughout 14.8 thousand ha only, or 30.7% of the planted areas.
As of August 18, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 358.9 thousand ha, or 2.1% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 436.8 thousand ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
