The EU countries reached the first position in the imports of Ukrainian sunflower oil, and even outranked India, due to rather significant import volumes in June. Since the beginning of 2015/2016 MY European countries purchased 1.23 million tons of sunflower oil, while India – 1.19 million tons.
Also, in the current season the European Union continued to actively increase purchases of Ukrainian oil. So, to date the import volumes to the EU almost doubled the results for the whole season of 2014/2015 (0.6 million tons).
In the current season, Spain became the leader of sunflower oil imports among the EU member states. Since the beginning of MY the country purchased 343.2 thousand tons of Ukrainian sunflower oil, against 151.9 thousand tons in the previous season. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
