Peas harvesting is nearly over in Ukraine.
This year in Ukraine peas acreage exceeded last year’s area by 33% and reached five-year high. And not only favorable weather during sowing contributed to this.
In 2015 peas appeared to be one of the most profitable agri crops among grains and pulses, as well as more attractive to farmers. Over the past five years peas profitability increased significantly – to 44.3%.
Prevailing favorable agro-meteorological conditions for peas cultivation allowed farmers to receive all-time high productivity at 3.17 MT/ha (according to the Ministry of Agriculture). This is 40% higher than the previous record. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
