In the first half of 2016 JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” (CTSP, member of UCL Holding) handled 288,2 thousand TEU, exceeding the last-year result by 66,5%, says CTSP.
Import volume increased by 53,5% YoY, to 130,3k TEU, including 29,4k TEU of laden reefer containers.
Export volume increased by 79%, compared to the same period last year, to 157,9k TEU. The share of laden export containers in overall throughput increased by 6,9% to 41,3%.
The shares of export and import in overall throughput of containers are 54,8% and 45,2%, respectively.
In the first half of 2016 CTSP continued reconstruction and expansion of the rail tracks. Increase of the share of rail dispatches to 31% allowed reducing atmospheric emissions and traffic congestion.
In the six months of 2016 CTSP handled 252 vessels with an average call size of 1,2k TEU.
Based on the throughput results for the first half of 2016, CTSP remains a leader among sea container terminals of Russia. Terminal’s market share in the ports of Saint-Petersburg and Ust-Luga is 31,3%.
