Representatives of National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom have discussed a possibility of cooperation in infrastructure and engineering projects with Spain’s IDOM Ingenieria, the company’s press service reported.
The press service said that special attention was paid to IDOM projects implemented in the nuclear and energy sector: stress tests at all Spanish nuclear power plants (NPPs), construction of spent nuclear fuel storage facilities, introduction of the filtering venting system and simulation of serious reactor accidents.
The Energoatom’s representatives presented information on the state of the implementation of the comprehensive program to increase safety of reactors of Ukrainian NPPs, a plan to build the centralized spent nuclear fuel storage facility and a list of investment projects to Spanish colleagues.
“At the meeting the sides agreed to look to promising directions for cooperation and the possible use of IDOM Ingenieria’s experience in the Energoatom’s future projects”, the company said.
IDOM Ingenieria is a leading engineering company in Spain in the nuclear sector.
Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
