According to the official statistics, in May the exports of soybean meal / cake from Ukraine reached the record monthly index at almost 50 thousand tons, or 20% of the general export volumes since the beginning of the current season (September-May of 2015/2016 MY).
In the reporting month, exports grew by 45% compared with April, and up 5.4 times YoY.
Generally, in the first 9 months of 2015/2016 MY Ukraine supplied 250 thousand tons of soybean meal / cake on external markets, which became the absolute maximum for all years of the country’s independence.
In particular, Belarus imported 38% of the general Ukrainian supplies, Turkey – 13%, Georgia and India – 9% each. In the current period of declining of the product supplies to Belarus due to the quarantine, India may become one of the most attractive sales markets for Ukrainian soybean meal / cake. So, in May the reporting country took the first position in the imports of the Ukrainian products and purchased 12.6 thousand tons of soybean meal / cake (26%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
