In May Russia exported 445.5 KMT of corn, up by 62% YoY. Since the beginning of the season corn exports from Russia have already exceeded 4 MMT compared to 2.39 MMT during October-May in season 2014/2015.
Russia increased corn shipments to EU and Arab countries. Exports of Russian corn to Lebanon have already exceeded 300 KMT compared to 60 KMT in the 2014/2015 season. Shipments to Syria reached 109 KMT compared to 11 KMT during the last marketing year. In this Russian exporters compensated for reduction of corn purchases by Turkey in view of substantial increase of domestic production this season.
