Ukraine’s export of rapeseed is likely to jump by 60% YoY, to 1.65 million tons in the 2017-2018 season as the harvest is expected to be about 70% larger than in the previous year
Ukrainian output could rise to 2.03 million tons this year from 1.19 million tons in 2016 due to larger sowing area and higher yield.
Ukraine in 2016 exported mainly grain crops worth $1.3 billion. In particular, Ukraine shipped 6.7 million tons of maize and 1.3 million tons of wheat. Ukraine also exported oilseeds (mainly rapeseed, soybean and sunflower) worth $607 million, vegetable oil shipments were estimated at $1.2 billion, and residues and by-products at $439 million.
